In speaking to the ALG (Academic Leadership Group) on Jan. 27, 2015, the All-Staff meeting on Jan. 28, 2105, and the University Faculty on Feb. 27, 2015, we emphasized a need to update unit websites and documents in order to prepare for the HLC Accreditation visit on Oct. 10-11, 2016.  To assist with this, Michael Pells, Digital Marketing Manager, has provided the following information:

Keeping cedarville.edu up-to-date serves many important purposes, including supporting our efforts to recruit new students. Our website is often the first look that prospective students have of our University as they search for a college to attend.

Now there’s yet another pressing reason to keep Cedarville’s website current: the planned October 2016 accreditation visit by representatives of the Higher Learning Commission. Specifically, HLC representatives will look for and expect our website to display:

– Current faculty and staff, with accurate titles and credentials*
– Program listings and descriptions that are up-to-date, accurate, and consistent with other University communications and publications

While Marketing and Web Development Services are responsible for maintaining the website, they depend upon personnel from the academic departments and schools to provide them with updates on faculty, staff, and programs.

Marketing and Web Development Services staff members are here to help and support you in keeping your area(s) of cedarville.edu current.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT TRAINING

Regular training is available to faculty and staff in Sitecore, Cedarville’s web content management system, which will allow you to make updates to your website. Please contact the individual in your area who has been trained in Sitecore to make regular updates. If there is no Sitecore-trained person in your area yet, please be aware that deans, department chairs, and managers can — and are highly encouraged to — designate a staff person and then contact Web Development Services to request Sitecore training for him or her.

WEB SERVICE REQUESTS

Please also feel free to submit a web request to have the web development staff make routine updates and changes to your website. Visit cedarville.edu/webrequest.
