Our Spring Alumni Events Update, Pt. 2April 17th, 2014
Last week in Colorado, our alumni chapter did a doubleheader with two alumni events in one day! We so appreciate our chapter team and all the work they put into the events last Saturday. Here are the highlights:
Colorado Springs, CO, event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
On the morning of Saturday, April 12, the Colorado chapter kicked off the weekend by hosting a private tour of the U.S. Olympic Training Center for alumni in the area. They kept the event free by asking alumni to bring a sack lunch, and they started the event with a time of fellowship together in a reserved room before the tour started at noon.
Creative element: A tour! The Colorado chapter had a good turnout at the event from alumni who were interested in the concept of a tour event. The guided tour allowed the group to move around, be active on a spring day, and get to know others who weren’t seated at the same table for the first part of the day.
Denver, CO, event with Michael Hidalgo ‘98
Later that evening, the chapter met back up for an evening event at a church community room to hear from a Cedarville alumnus, Michael Hidalgo ’98. Michael serves as lead pastor of Denver Community Church and is the author of Unlost.
Creative element: A speaker event that highlights what a CU grad is doing now. The Alumni Relations staff loves going out to events and sharing updates, but it is very special to have alumni share updates of their own to their Cedarville family.
