Make 2014 the year you get involved with your alumni chapter!

Friday, January 17th, 2014

As we start a new year, many people resolve to start trying new and different things.  Some people resolve to get to the gym more, volunteer more, or spend more time with their family.  While these are all wonderful New Year’s Resolution ideas, may we at the Alumni Office offer one more?

Become More Involved With Your Alumni Chapter!

This is a fun and easy way to stay connected to what is going on at Cedarville, as well as an opportunity to reconnect with fellow graduates.  Many chapters already have events planned for this year or are looking to schedule events.

Get To Know A DAE Member: Rachel Collins

Delta Alpha Epsilon (DAE) is a student service organization dedicated to serving Cedarville University’s alumni. DAE assists the Alumni Association with chapter and regional events, Homecoming, and various other needs around the Alumni Relations Office. Students must reapply each spring to be a member of this highly selective organization.

My name is Rachel Collins; I am a junior Strategic Communication major with minors in Public Relations and Bible. I am from Bellbrook, OH but was raised wherever the Air Force sent my family.

This past year, I have had the the opportunity of being a part of Delta Alpha Epsilon (DAE), a small organization of junior and senior students whose job is to assist the Alumni Relations office at Cedarville by keeping alumni connected with Cedarville. DAE has been one of my favorite experiences while at Cedarville. Through it I have made lifelong friends, traveled to several different states, and gained experiences and skills that I can take with me beyond Cedarville. (more…)

CU Down South!

Friday, November 15th, 2013

Today’s post was provided by Ramsey McRory ’15, who serves on Delta Alpha Epsilon and will contribute regularly to the Chapter Leadership Blog. Ramsey is a junior Nursing major from Haymarket, Virginia.

The Alumni Office and DAE has had a wonderful and busy semester! After Homecoming, 6 DAE students and Rita Heaton, Coordinator for Regional Alumni Events and Services, took off to Charlotte, North Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina, to host some alumni events down South during Cedarville’s Fall Break.

Having the opportunity to meet Charlotte-area alumni at Mellow Mushroom for pizza was a blast. This event was unique because we had quite a number of young alumni come out and show their interest in starting the chapter and getting involved in chapter leadership. After the Charlotte event, we went down to Greenville to rock climb and have coffee and ice cream with alumni from that area. It was a great time to relax and enjoy the company of Cedarville grads, learn about their experience at CU, and hear about the way God has used them since their time at Cedarville.

All of us involved with CU Alumni are excited about the up and coming Charlotte chapter and the opportunity we had over Fall Break to reconnect with alumni at our chapter events. We are always looking to do more events, and we love hearing your ideas for great events and ways to stay connected.

P.S. – We are looking for new leaders for our Greenville, South Carolina, Chapter! If you or someone you know lives near Greenville, feel free to reach out to us to learn more about getting involved with the Greenville chapter!
