Flats, Sweet Pads, and Love . . .
June 11th, 2009Well the first couple weeks of our tour has been amazing. We’ve been all over Ohio, Tennessee, South Carolina, and now we’re headed to Florida. We officially had our first road warrior test the other day. It’s story time everyone!
Once upon a time, HeartSong was traveling along the road. The road was good…long, but good. Taylor was fed, Brittany didn’t need any extra bathroom breaks, and Alise had cell coverage. Everyone was content and happy. Then from out of nowhere the team heard a loud popping and exploding sound. Oh no! What is happening! The anticipation was building . . . Colby reassured everyone to stay calm, all is well. It’s only a tire! The moral of the story is yet to be determined. It might have to do with a disease called “overfilledtraileritis” See below:

Overfilledtraileritis is a self induced disease
The guys on the team took this time to show the girls on their team how much they appreciated them by going out in the hot sun and changing the tire on the trailer. The only casualties were a sweaty shirt or two.
Like the other teams we have been treated so well out on the road, which always humbles us. We are so grateful for all of the people we meet and the hospitality that they continually show us. THANK YOU SO MUCH! The folks in Greenville, SC allowed us the opportunity to spend some time at a beach house. It was so nice. We spent the whole day boating, and rope swinging. Everyone participated in the rope swinging which was an awesome team building time. To conclude this amazing day we grilled out some food and enjoyed talking and spending time with each other. The team is getting along great and we are learning so much about what it means to love one another.
During our devotion time, we are taking the opportunity to tell each other our testimonies. During this testimony time we are sharing what we believe to be our “love language”. It’s so nice to learn what the other people on the team are going through and to know different ways that we can encourage. It’s really awesome to hear the different ways that people like to be shown love, and it’s something that we can do as team members to encourage one another; we can encourage them through their “love language.” That is our prayer; that when people come into contact with us they will see the love that we have for one another and the love that we show to others. And by showing love we are ultimately sharing the love that has been shown to all of us through Christ.
We will be joining up with LiFT Student Ministires soon and are really looking forward to being with their staff and all the campers. We can’t wait to meet all the new people and we can’t wait to share the stories with you soon!

Wow, who figured I have been praying for safety for all the teams. I pray for safe travel, good health and mostly that name of Jesus will be lifted up wherever you go. — Joe’s dad

We had a sweet time with the team and will be praying as you continue to love one another and minister to those who you’ll visit. We love you all and are thankful for the opportunity to spend precious time together. (Be sure and contact us if you have another cancellation!) – Garrett’s mom and dad
