Update to the previous TechNews sent on Wednesday, June 21:  The VOIP phone system upgrade is postponed to Friday July 7. The remaining events listed below are scheduled as previously communicated.

 
SSC Network Maintenance: June 28

Wired and wireless network connectivity in the SSC Event rooms and surrounding area will be unavailable Wednesday June 28 from 5:00-9:00 PM EDT while we clean up the Telecommunications closet to make troubleshooting easier in the future and decrease future downtime.

Campus South End Network Maintenance: June 30

Information Technology will perform maintenance on the Cedarville network on the south end of campus on Friday, June 30 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT. The maintenance will involve rerouting of the fiber network cabling that services the east side of Main Street. Wired and wireless network connectivity will be unavailable in the following buildings during this 9 hour time period:

  • Alford Hall
  • Faith Hall
  • Carnegie Center
  • Hartman House
  • South Hall
  • Harriman Hall
  • Ambassador Hall

Redwood System Maintenance: June 30

The Redwood system will undergo maintenance involving security updates and upgrading the database on Friday, June 30 from 5:00 PM – 11:59 PM EDT. The following systems and services will be unavailable during this 4 hour time period:

  • Cedarinfo
  • Informer
  • Colleague
  • Self Service
  • Workorder Maintenance System
  • Web transactions that use Colleague data

Phone System VOIP Software Upgrade: July 7

The phone system VOIP (Voice Over IP) software will be upgraded on Friday, July 7 from 6:00-9:00 PM EDT. The phone system will be unavailable during this 3 hour time period. This is a routine upgrade to increase performance and reliability, and resolve minor bugs in the software. The upgrade will not impact the look and functionality of the office phones. The upgrade will provide some minor improvements to the phone system web interface.
