{"id":355,"date":"2016-09-13T15:49:58","date_gmt":"2016-09-13T19:49:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cedarville.edu\/accreditation-update\/?p=355"},"modified":"2016-09-15T08:01:27","modified_gmt":"2016-09-15T12:01:27","slug":"highlights-of-the-assurance-argument-pt-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cedarville.edu\/accreditation-update\/2016\/highlights-of-the-assurance-argument-pt-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Highlights of the Assurance Argument Pt. 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post coincides with our arrival at the top of the sidebar timeline: Lockdown! \u00a0Although we reached an earthly goal, it reminds us that we have a real and eternal goal. \u00a0&#8220;I pursue toward the goal for the prize to which God in Christ Jesus has call me upward.&#8221; (Phil. 3:14)<\/p>\n<p>This final Highlight summarizes Criterion 5: Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness. \u00a0We argue here that Cedarville is sustainable and plans strategically for the future.<\/p>\n<p><b>Responsible fiscal management.\u00a0 <\/b>We have shown\u00a0through the history of our past strategic plans and through our management of finances and spending allocations that we are a sound and sustainable institution. \u00a0Based upon many careful considerations and informed by our strategic plan, our annual budget is carefully created by the President and Cabinet over a period of months, then approved by the Trustees.<\/p>\n<p><b>Clear Roles and Communication.\u00a0 <\/b>Not only are we fiscally sound, the various functions and roles of the employees are well defined in our University By-laws and Policy Handbooks.\u00a0 Trustees, Administration, Faculty, and Staff all have very clear responsibilities that allow the University to function like a well-oiled machine.\u00a0 Systems of evaluation and assessment of individual personnel incite employees to continually improve their performance.\u00a0 The organization of the University is such that it allows for frequent, thorough, and regular communication among the various offices and departments.\u00a0 This infrastructure allows us to do our best work, learn from other areas, and work together effectively.<\/p>\n<p><b>Strategic Planning.\u00a0 <\/b>Over the last year we have developed a new strategic plan.
