Cedarville\u2019s Department of Music and Worship, in collaboration with Cedarville Worship Publishing, invites students to explore the <strong>Songwriting Minor<\/strong> or enroll in individual songwriting courses starting fall 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Songwriting Minor Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>18\u201319 credit songwriting minor<\/strong> is designed for students who want to develop their craft and understanding of songwriting. The four core songwriting courses follow a two-year cycle that will begin again in fall 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get started, students must enroll in <strong>SWMU-2100 Fundamentals of Songwriting<\/strong>, offered <strong>Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2 p.m.<\/strong> this fall. Additional courses in the sequence will be available through <strong>spring 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Sequence for 2025\u201327<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fall 2025<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SWMU 2100 \u2013 Fundamentals of Songwriting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>THMU 1210* \u2013 Music Theory 1 (or THMU 1250 below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Spring 2026<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SWMU 2500 \u2013 Worship Songwriting <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>THMU 1250* \u2013 Contemporary Musicianship 1 (or THMU 1210 above)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fall 2026<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SWMU 3100 \u2013 Professional Aspects of Songwriting <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TYMU 2510 \u2013 Introduction to Digital Music Production<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spring 2027<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SWMU 4900 \u2013 Senior Songwriting Seminar <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TYMU 2520 \u2013 Music Production Techniques<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Students must take either THMU 1210 or THMU 1250.
