Your Service Makes a Difference

The Lord has blessed us in many ways in recent years. We experienced a record enrollment last fall, our financial health is back to where it needs to be, and this year we have the opportunity to dream about the ten-year campus master plan. All of these items pale in comparison to the joy of making a true difference in lives for all eternity. We have the opportunity to do that through the investment in our students. During spring break, we had faculty and staff leading teams of students literally all over the world making an eternal impact in the lives of others, and I want to say thank you.

Thank you for the encouragement this has provided to me personally. During spring break, I was in Florida with my wife and her mom. Her mom received the diagnosis of mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s, and we spent the week trying to help get her house ready to sell and make arrangements for her eventual move. During this difficult personal time for us, God showed us emails or Facebook messages of the Gospel work going on around the world at just the right time.

Thank you for setting an example for our students. By giving up your spring break to take students on trips, you demonstrate the servant leadership of Jesus and a commitment to the Great Commission. You have demonstrated loving God and loving others. Our students notice and will follow your example.

Thank you for truly standing for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. We say it, but you have led the way in doing it and God continues to bless your work.  I received a message with photos of our students serving in medical missions in Nicaragua. The team saw nearly 1,500 patients resulting in 30 new believers and 60 re-dedications. I received an email from Africa where over 80 decisions were made in three days at a medical clinic. Dr. Tom Mach and Dr. Angie Mickle, among others, served admirably on this team. They encouraged the missionaries there and took part in an amazing movement of the Lord. No matter what else happens during this school year, the Cedarville family has impacted over 100 lives for all eternity. In reading these messages and many more like them, heaven rejoiced, and at these moments Cedarville stood tall for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. May the sun never set on our service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In Christ Alone,
