Civil Rights Team holding signs sharing their ideas from the tour

Reviewing God’s work in Birmingham

The recent civil rights tour ended in the city of Birmingham. 19 students, faculty & staff traveled 1800 miles . The tour included, Wilberforce Ohio; Charleston, South Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Selma,  Alabama and Birmingham Alabama. In Birmingham, the group ended the tour at the Kelley Ingram park. Children were hosed in this park to stop them from protesting and eventually dogs were called out on the children. The story ended with 4 little girls dying at the church in the rear of our picture. The 16 Street Baptist Church was the site of great sadness. A bomb planted that went off during church time. At the end of the tour, the team wrote one word reflections to communicate something each person learned. The tour is a one credit class facilitated by Dr Murray Murdoch.
