The world we live in is different than the world our parents grew up in. The complexities of relationships, music and opportunities afforded educationally are not the same. To meet the challenge forward, intentional thinking is required. Recently, Associate Vice President Roscoe Smith and the Admissions team at Cedarville took a forward step. They asked the question: “If our world is multicultural, how can we better prepare to be an institution that sees, works with and welcomes the multicultural world to Cedarville?” This is something they have been about for some time and continue to desire further advancement in this area, Roscoe decided to take the Admissions team to a conference in a multicultural city, led by a multicultural staff, with a conservative, multicultural evangelical agenda. Taking almost his entire counseling staff away from their duties for a week was a big commitment, but the outcome was important. Understanding how to better interact with the world around them, truly furthers the cause of Christ! Post event, some of the team met for a second debrief and considered continuing steps to grow the student body and help our campus look more like the body of Christ around the World.
