img_7695The reason I look at a clock is so I can calculate how much time has passed and how much time is left in a particular period. I also love electronic calendars. They help me keep track without me even looking up from my computer! The buzzes, bells and blips remind me what is coming up in 30, 20 or 10 minutes. Additionally with color coding I can estimate who gets how much of my time and when! It’s valuable to know exactly what’s going on and to answer the question, at least internally, “What time is it?” Let’s be clear, it’s time to pray! It’s time to pray not because there is some terrible menace on the loose. It’s time to pray not because it’s time to eat (we always pray then). It’s time to pray not because it’s the beginning of May (National day of prayer). It’s simply time to pray because that is the best thing to do with my time. 1 John 5:14,15 reminds me that I can have confidence in our great God and that my prayer time can and should be open and honest. So much better to talk to my Creator just because He wants me to talk to Him! It’s time to have communication with God that is flowing and natural and often! Nature reminds me that there is a God, the clock reminds me to talk to Him often. It’s time to pray!
