Regina Wright, a member of Atlanta Bible Baptist Church in Decatur, GA, is a co-recipient of the Rev. James D. Parker Sr. Young Leader Scholarship.

Joseph Kornegay, a member of Central Baptist Church in Syracuse, NY, is this year’s co-recipient of the Rev. James D. Parker Sr. Young Leader Scholarship.

Cedarville University has a growing partnership with the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship Association (FBFA). This modest group of churches from all over America has organized themselves as an affiliation committed to the truths found in the Word of God.

Several years ago, the Rev. James D. Parker Sr. Young Leader Scholarship was created to help pave the way for young leaders from the FBFA to attend Cedarville University. “We want our campus to look more like heaven,” said Dr. Thomas White, President of Cedarville University.

Regina Wright and Joseph Kornegay were selected from a group of young scholars to receive this year’s scholarship, which covers 100% of their tuition for up to eight semesters. “We are encouraged to have such amazing young leaders joining the Cedarville family this fall,” said Rev. Gregory Dyson, Director of Intercultural Leadership at Cedarville University and Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in London, OH.

Regina and Joseph will bring Cedarville’s number of Parker Scholarship recipients to four and FBFA students on campus to a total of 6. This summer Cedarville will recruit more FBFA students at the FBFA annual conference July 9-13 in Orlando, FL. The theme of the conference is “Making a Difference in the Ethnic Divide.” Keynote speakers are Dr. Charles Ware, Dr. Ken Davis, and Dr. John McNeal. Representatives from Cedarville University will be also present and providing workshops. As a university, Cedarville looks forward to more connections with the FBFA in the years to come.
