Finals Week Event | Lounge at the Library

April 24, 2015

Lounge at the LibraryCentennial Library will host a study break event for students during finals week called “Lounge at the Library” on Tuesday, April 28th from 8pm to 11pm in room 27 on the library’s lower level.

The beach-themed event will feature snacks, drinks, and activities like games and coloring to allow students some downtime during what can be a very stressful week.

Students can take a quick break or stay for hours.

Mandi Hanson, Assistant to the Circulation Services Manager and a member of the library’s Marketing Committee said, “This provides a place to converse with others, get a few snacks and maybe play a quick game to rejuvenate their brain for more effective studying.”

The library held a similar event at the end of fall semester called the ‘Chill Zone’. It was well-attended by students so it was clear that a repeat was in order for spring.

Hanson added, “Events like these are a nice break for our students. But hopefully it also shows that we, as a library staff, not only want to support them academically, but that we care about them personally and are 100% behind them during exam week.”
