Be sure to check out “The City”, our latest book display. Austin Becton, a senior English major, is interning with the Library this semester and created the display.
“I chose to display our library’s selection on cities because living, working, playing, and learning take place in the community. Our quality of life depends on healthy, vibrant urban centers,” said Becton. “Cedarville students should take notice of the changing urban environment. The 21st century will largely take place in dense and diverse communities.“I’ve always been attracted to cities because of their diversity, cultural amenities, and energy. I wanted to showcase this selection of books because many of the people I meet seem suspicious of the urban environment. The display features many aspects of cities–history, global perspectives, American perspectives, and urban planning concepts–and will hopefully inspire students to consider the amazing potential of urban living.”
