Why start a blog on STEM at Cedarville.edu?\u00a0 For several years the Department of Science and Mathematics had discussed ways of exposing our program both internally and externally to Cedarville University.\u00a0 We have added a Facebook page to announce activities in the department and to highlight people and comment on current events.\u00a0 However, this medium is temporary in nature although not as much as Twitter or Snapchat.<\/p>\r\n
Our goal is for individuals to develop a closer connection to our department through content that has a longer shelf life.\u00a0 Although we will comment on recent developments in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) disciplines, we also will include short essays on the value of STEM and STEM education.\u00a0 Given that we are a faith-based institution, we will also comment on the integration of faith, science and learning: including philosophical considerations and practical methodology.\u00a0 We will also include book reviews, problems\/puzzles and other curiosities that catch our attention.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
