Everybody has their own little daily routine, and each one looks a little bit different. So, I\u2019m going to give you a little glimpse into my life here at Cedarville by walking you through my typical Monday from morning to evening!<\/span><\/p>\n

7 a.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

This marks one of the most difficult parts of my day, and that\u2019s getting out of bed. Here\u2019s the thing: I love mornings. They\u2019re fantastic. BUT, I have a very hard time actually getting up. So once my alarm goes off and I\u2019ve taken a couple minutes to mentally prepare myself to get up, I roll out from under my cozy covers, plant my feet on the floor, and make my bed.<\/span><\/p>\n

7:15 a.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a little bit more awake after I\u2019ve made my bed and stretched. I make my way over to my desk, open the blinds to let my plants that line my windowsill get some sunlight, and spend some time in the Word. I\u2019m currently working through James \u2014 if you haven\u2019t read it before, I highly recommend it. At this point, I\u2019ll usually eat a Larabar (my favorite is almond butter chocolate chip) or just a good ol\u2019 spoonful of peanut butter, since I don\u2019t always feel like a full breakfast in the morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 a.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s time to start getting ready for the day. I pick out my outfit, which normally is a pair of jeans and a cozy sweater, throw on some shoes, typically my white Converse high tops, which are way overdue for a replacement (I just can\u2019t bring myself to part with them yet), and do a little extra homework before I\u2019m out the door and on my way to my 9 a.m. class.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 a.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

I find my seat and get my laptop out. It\u2019s <\/span>Dr. Miller\u2019s Old Testament Literature <\/span><\/a>class, and it\u2019s probably one of my favorite classes that I\u2019ve taken. He opens with prayer and then dives right into the material. Dr. Miller always digs incredibly deep and shows you something you never knew before about God or the book you\u2019re walking through. You definitely have to make sure you\u2019re awake and ready to take a ton of notes.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 a.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

Chapel begins, and it looks a little different this year because of COVID, but we\u2019re still able to gather together to some extent. I make my way into the Doden Fieldhouse with the crowds of other students and find my group of friends in our favorite spot, close to the middle and near the front of the crowd where nothing blocks our view of the words on the screen. After HeartSong leads us in worship, we take our seats, and Dr. White gives his message for the morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 a.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t have anything at this time, so I usually use this hour to bust out some homework in the Stevens Student Center (we just call it the SSC). Sometimes I use my meal plan flex dollars to get myself a nice, light-roast black coffee from Rinnova (or an Italian eye opener if I have an exceptional amount that I gotta get done), and then I find a comfy chair in the lower SSC to settle into for the next hour.<\/span><\/p>\n

12 p.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

I head to Chuck\u2019s (the dining hall) with a few of my pals from my hall for a quick lunch. We love sitting at the tables in the corners by the windows, where all the sunlight pours in. It\u2019s a nice little mental break before my next class.<\/span><\/p>\n

1 p.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

I zoom over from Chuck\u2019s to the lecture hall where I have<\/span> Politics and American Culture <\/span><\/a>with Dr. Sims, who always keeps it interesting. After opening up with prayer, he walks through his slides. I love this class because he never misses an opportunity to tell a joke or to interact with students who raise their hand with a question.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 p.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

I have my third and final class of the day: Writing for the Communication Professions with Dr. Harris. Dr. Harris is so passionate about what he teaches, so this class is always both interesting and challenging. After this class, unless a student has scheduled a biology tutoring session with me, I find a spot somewhere on campus to study or hang out with friends until we head to dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 p.m.<\/b><\/p>\n

Time for sister dinner with the girls in my hall! We always go to Chuck\u2019s and find a table with enough seats for all of us. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the day, just sitting and being with all my pals. We hang out and laugh with each other for a little while and then go our separate ways, usually to do more homework.<\/span><\/p>\n

My day is unique to me but, overall, this is what a day in the life of a Cedarville student would look like!
