So it\u2019s Valentine\u2019s Day, you don\u2019t have a significant other, and you don\u2019t know what to do. You can mope about it, sure, or you could make this Hallmark holiday a fun time by grabbing your best pals and embarking on a February 14 adventure. Here\u2019s how to do that:<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Don\u2019t feel sorry for yourself. There\u2019s a time and a place for that, but Valentine\u2019s Day isn\u2019t it. It\u2019s too stereotypical to sit in your room and watch a cheesy rom-com while eating ice cream from the carton.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Treat yo\u2019 self. Just because you don\u2019t have a SO doesn\u2019t mean that you can\u2019t enjoy nice things. Buy yourself flowers and chocolate. The flowers will smell just as sweet and the chocolate will be just as delicious.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Surround yourself with people you care about. This could be your besties in your hall, maybe your bro\/sis, or maybe just that one friend you\u2019ve known since freshman year. Don\u2019t try to start something romantic with that guy or girl you have a crush on. It would just make things weird. Be with your friends.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Find some fun! Cedarville might be in the middle of Nowhere, Ohio, but there are still a variety of things that are fun to do. The weather says it\u2019s going to be a little warmer on Thursday, so a fun hike in the rain would be a perfect way to spend the day (after classes of course). If being outside isn\u2019t your thing, then go try a new coffee shop you\u2019ve never been to, go to the bookstore in Yellow Springs, draw pictures with your friends, get donuts from the Rip (that\u2019s what we call the gas station across the street), buy movie theater candy from DG (also known as Dollar General) and watch a movie in a study room, get a non-textbook book from the library–whatever you decide to do, just remember that having a boyfriend\/girlfriend isn\u2019t what defines how your day looks like. Valentine\u2019s Day is about love, so as cheesy as this sounds, make it a day where you love your life.<\/p>\n
