It\u2019s happening all around us. The air is crisp, the sound of crunching leaves fills our ears, and the taste of pumpkin spice tingles our taste buds. While all those sensations are wonderful and perfectly represent the fall season, it is also important to remember that this season also represents change \u2013 it represents growth and harvest. While this season can be both beautiful and sad, it is important to remember the beautiful things that fall brings us. If you\u2019re reading this as a prospective student, you\u2019re probably going through some big changes or new seasons of your life right now! Transitioning from high school to college might seem scary, but it is one of those changes that is necessary for your growth. Ultimately, no matter the change or the season you\u2019re in, try to welcome those changes and wait for something wonderful to come out of them.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fall Activities<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When I think of fall, I think of all the fun activities that you can do with friends and family! Pumpkin patches, apple orchards, scary corn mazes, and these are just a few of the fun things that fall offers us. The best thing about all those activities is that you can do them with others, with the people that you care about! Imagine having a movie night with all your best buds \u2013 drinking apple cider, eating fall-themed treats, and covering your eyes because the movie might be <\/span>too <\/span><\/i>scary. Although this activity doesn\u2019t seem extravagant, it will hold a special place in your heart because you\u2019re surrounded by some of your favorite people!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, this idea can be applied to many other events and activities that take place in your life. It\u2019s not always about <\/span>what<\/span><\/i> you\u2019re doing but <\/span>whom<\/span><\/i> you\u2019re doing it with. Most likely the memories will eventually fade, but you\u2019ll be able to remember the people in those memories for the rest of your life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Fall Sensations<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I think fall provides us with the most sensations compared to the other seasons. You have the crisp, autumn air; the crunchy leaves that we just have to step on; and even the smell of the cool air mixed with the crispy leaves. During fall, all our senses are immersed in autumnal wonder as we see the leaves change colors, the bright orange we spot in pumpkin patches, along with the warm colors that seem to hug us as we walk through apple orchards. As we\u2019re taking in all these sensations, remember that the things around us are changing. Fall is a season of change \u2013 a season that any one of us can and will go through as well.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As seniors in high school, you are probably going through a big change or a new season in your life right now. You might be looking at potential colleges, making your last few memories with your high school friends, or ultimately preparing for a huge change between high school and college. Either way, change is necessary, and it is beautiful.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Much like the changing leaves of the season, we will begin to change and fall into our new selves. Although having a season of change is scary and unknown, remember how beautiful change <\/span>can <\/span><\/i>be. We don\u2019t look at the orange and red leaves with disgust and fear; no, we look at them in awe due to their beauty, even if that beauty did come from <\/span>change<\/span><\/b>. We also need to remember that God, our wonderful Creator, created all living things with the ability to grow and change through this life that He has given us. So, even if we are stuck in a season of our lives that isn\u2019t very favorable, remember that a new season is always coming \u2013 a new season of change and growth!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Abundance of Fall<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fall is presented as a season of abundance. It is when the local farmers begin to harvest their crops, hoping for a great <\/span>abundance<\/span><\/b> of produce and supply. This form of abundance is necessary, but God\u2019s abundant love is what will always outweigh any crop. Since fall is also connected with death, we often find ourselves in a place of sadness. But it\u2019s important to remember that our Father is always going to be there with us, no matter the season.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever\u201d (Isa. 40:8). Even as the grass dries up and the leaves change color, we will always be able to depend on our Lord and His word. Having faith in Him should stay with us through all seasons because His word and love stays with us through everything.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reflect on the fall season \u2013 on all the changes, activities, and sensations that autumn brings to our lives. Always remember that change is necessary for growth to occur, and it will most likely bring a new outlook on life. Never forget that our Lord and Savior stays with us throughout all seasons. He is a constant in our crazy, changing lives and we must remember to also stick by Him and His Word. Luckily, you will be immersed in a very welcoming and comfortable environment at Cedarville, so going through these changes and seasons will be very easy for you. So, during this fall season, remember to drink a pumpkin spice latte, crunch some leaves as you walk, enjoy a pumpkin patch or haunted house, and most important, reflect and appreciate the change that is occurring all around you!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s happening all around us.
