Autumn is here! Fall is a wonderful time of year when the weather is cooling, the bugs are (finally) dying, and the trees around campus are turning brilliant shades of red, yellow, and orange. Spooky season is finally afoot and there are many activities to do in Cedarville!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

#1. Hiking<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This one is fairly simple; everyone enjoys the simple pleasure of crunchy leaves around fall time! A walk with a friend around the lake, or elsewhere on campus, provides the satisfying crunch of leaves and a pleasant view while you catch up with friends. Nearby, a five-minute drive to Cedar Cliffs also has wonderful walking trails and a beautiful creek to go hiking with friends. Don\u2019t worry: this place also has plenty of crunchy leaves!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

#2. Fall Drinks<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider and apple pie chai. Fall drinks are iconic, and it\u2019s a tragedy that they are only sold during one season. Beans n\u2019 Cream down the road on Main Street has a wonderful selection of fall drinks, including the previously mentioned apple pie chai latte (it is <\/span>delicious<\/span><\/i>). On campus, Rinnova makes a variety of drinks, but during this time, fall drinks are very popular. So, stop by with your friends and pick up a drink!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

#3. Movies<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Obviously, movies aren\u2019t special to fall (if Hallmark\u2019s massive Christmas movie selection is anything to go by), but Halloween does provide a special genre of movies: horror! Rent a room in the library or cozy up in your dorm room to rewatch all the old classics: <\/span>Halloweentown,<\/span><\/i> Scream<\/span><\/i> or <\/span>Casper<\/span><\/i> (the 1995 version, trust me, it should be considered a horror movie)! Of course, you don\u2019t need to be into horror to watch a good fall movie: <\/span>Hocus Pocus<\/span><\/i> just came out with a sequel, and you can argue for an hour and 16 minutes about whether or not <\/span>The Nightmare Before Christmas<\/span><\/i> is a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie (or pick the easy out and say both).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

#4. Pumpkin Carving<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This one requires a bit of planning, namely, getting the pumpkins. Pumpkin patches are their own fun daytrip, complete with hayrides and corn mazes and finding the perfect pumpkin, but once you do, consider hosting a little pumpkin carving contest with your friends or dorm hall! Carving pumpkins is messy but satisfying and now you have your own decoration for fall!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

#5. Student-led Activities<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are no specific fall events, but something is always set up! For example, this year, P.E.B. is hosting a Halloween dance party! So, look up events on the SGA website or on the events calendar and you might find something! If not, your friend group could always set something up yourselves! Fall is a beautiful time of year and something indoor or outdoor would be so much fun!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ultimately, while you\u2019re at Cedarville you will find something to do in the fall. New students are always encouraged to participate in the university-run events, and they are always a ton of fun. However, as you become more accustomed to campus life, you might want to create your own activities with the friends that you meet! We hope when you arrive at Cedarville, no matter the season, that you enjoy your time and make a ton of memories.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Autumn is here!
