I didn\u2019t start looking at colleges till my senior year. Before then, I assumed that the only college I would apply to was the college my mom went to. I was happy with the decision, despite only going to the campus once. However, around 2015 or 2016, my church hired a new youth pastor. He and his wife went to Cedarville. They met here and graduated here and recommended the college to me. They sold it very well: beautiful campus, not too big (I come from a very small town), and spiritually strong teaching! I looked into the college further and was intrigued. The college had some interesting rules (no shorts or sweatpants during class set me back for a moment), but nothing that was difficult to get over.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>I was really interested in the minors that they offered! I was set on being an English major, and I really wanted to go into editing \u2014 and they have an editing and publishing minor that I couldn\u2019t find in any of the other colleges I looked at. Additionally, their required Bible minor was fascinating \u2014 I had grown up in public school, so my classes did not have any biblical foundation. I visited campus and sat in on a class and chapel, and I was astounded. The campus was gorgeous and had some of the prettiest sunsets over the lake.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

The classes began with a prayer, and they applied a Christian perspective to what they were learning about. Science classes did not advocate for evolution as I had learned in public school but are taught from a biblical standpoint.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Chapel was an amazing experience. Being surrounded by nearly 4,000 students who are all singing with you and praising the Lord is something I will never get over \u2014 no matter how many chapels I go to.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Cedarville<\/p>\n

When I visited for CU Friday and the Leadership Conference, it felt very inclusive and welcoming. Students helped us find our way when we were lost, students in the class I sat in on were happy to include us or simply let us listen, and the professor answered any questions I had.\u202f<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\nCedarville also offers many opportunities and organizations to get involved in on every level: sports, writing, outreach, and many more! They helped us connect to other prospective students and helped us curate friendships and community early on so that coming to campus wouldn\u2019t seem scary later. The biblical foundation of each class and the welcoming environment with opportunities to get involved make Cedarville a wonderful place for any prospective student!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Why do students choose Cedarville University?
