While classes, homework, and other college\u00a0business\u00a0certainly\u00a0take up most of your time, there will still be\u00a0the\u00a0rare slow day on campus. If they do not happen on their own,\u00a0carving\u00a0time out of your schedule to allow for one\u00a0is vital for rest and\u00a0rejuvenation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These days are a blessing and a relief from the chaos of school. But what\u00a0should\u00a0you\u00a0even\u00a0do on these slow days?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are three core aspects\u00a0of\u00a0my\u00a0own ideal\u00a0slow day on campus!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Catch Up on\u00a0Housekeeping and\u00a0TV Shows<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

It sounds boring, but a day of laundry\u00a0(hooray for free laundry facilities in the dorms!), vacuuming, and doing the dishes can be quite relaxing after a long week of schoolwork.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All too often, the dirty clothes and dishes pile up, pushed to the side in the mad rush of the week. But when a slow Sunday rolls around, it can be refreshing to clean up and start anew for the week.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Between loads of laundry, I turn on YouTube or a TV show (<\/span>Parks and Recreation<\/span><\/i>\u00a0is a personal favorite) and enjoy an episode or two as I chow down on lunch or some microwave popcorn.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Take Time To\u00a0Rest<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Of course, no slow day is complete without a nice, long nap. I especially enjoy Sunday afternoon naps shortly after lunch.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0like to\u00a0crack open the windows to let some light in, get comfortable in my bed or futon, and wrap myself up in one of my many blankets. There is something particularly peaceful about napping with the sun shining on your face. I feel like a lazy housecat in the best way!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If napping\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0your thing, listening to music, reading a book, or doing a small craft can be an excellent substitute. Walks can also be a great\u00a0outlet\u00a0if the weather is conducive\u00a0to\u00a0a peaceful stroll.\u00a0The goal is to just do anything\u00a0that will\u00a0relax and reset your mind and body for the week ahead!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\"\"<\/p>\n

3. Enjoy a\u00a0Good\u00a0Movie<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

To end a perfectly\u00a0lazy day, there is nothing better than turning on a silly movie with some friends.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From\u00a0<\/span>Monty Python\u00a0<\/span><\/i>to\u00a0<\/span>Twilight<\/span><\/i>, the best college movies are the ones you can make fun of while surrounded by those you care about. These movies\u00a0allow\u00a0people to\u00a0drop in\u00a0and move around as much as they want\u00a0because the experience is more important than the movie itself.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\"\"<\/p>\n

Friends can be working on schoolwork, crafts, or cha<\/span>tting while the movie plays, and no one gets upset\u00a0\u2014 the movie is simply a bridge to\u00a0greater\u00a0community. It also leads to great inside jokes that bring joy long after the credits roll.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

College life\u00a0can quickly become overwhelming. From last-minute assignments to social events galore, it is so easy to become swept up in the chaos of it all. As much as you can, take advantage of these slow days. They are a necessary reset for the busy days ahead.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
