This August,\u00a0I sat in\u00a0<\/span>chapel,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0eager to hear the\u00a0speaker\u2019s\u00a0message. I\u00a0had\u00a0waited all summer to be able to sit in these seats again\u00a0in\u00a0the first section in front of the stage.\u00a0The lights begin to dim, and my heart overflowed with joy as we begin to praise Jesus.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking\u00a0around,\u00a0I saw over\u00a04,000 people surrendering their hearts before the Lord through worship.\u00a0With mouths wide and hands raised, they proclaimed the name of Jesus.\u00a0My gaze drifted to my friends standing next to me: the same ones who have shown me love,\u00a0gone\u00a0on spontaneous coffee runs, spent late nights studying,\u00a0poured God\u2019s truth into me,\u00a0and did life alongside me for the past\u00a0three\u00a0years.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fixating back\u00a0on the\u00a0chapel band,\u00a0it dawned on me:\u00a0This was my last Fall Bible Conference ever.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A Place\u00a0To\u00a0Call\u00a0Home<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

As a\u00a0senior, you will constantly have moments where you realize that you are doing something for the last time. Fall Bible Conference was just the beginning of those\u00a0realizations for me.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0a\u00a0freshman, it feels like the day you will walk across the\u00a0<\/span>graduation<\/span><\/a>\u00a0stage\u00a0to receive\u00a0your diploma is far away.\u00a0In reality, you are a lot closer than you think,\u00a0and it will be very hard to say goodbye to a place you called home.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I will never forget sitting in the passenger seat, nervously waiting to begin\u00a0<\/span>Getting Started Weekend<\/span><\/a>. When we arrived on\u00a0campus, I was greeted with\u00a0dozens of smiling students holding signs that read, \u201cWelcome\u00a0Home!\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Little did the young and nervous girl I was then know that I would be spending the next four years of my life\u00a0here\u00a0building long-lasting relationships, deepening my faith in Jesus, learning how to live\u00a0on my own, and growing\u00a0professionally\u00a0in ways I never knew would be possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\"\"<\/p>\n

Looking Back: Growth, Faith, and Community at Cedarville<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

I could spend hours looking back on\u00a0all\u00a0the ways I have grown while at Cedarville.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My professors challenged me to excel in\u00a0all\u00a0my courses and go beyond by seeking growth\u00a0opportunities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Bible minor<\/span><\/a> and chapel messages encouraged me to completely own my relationship with Jesus by <\/span>surrendering my heart to Him. I went on a deep dive to study theology and learn how to apply it to the real world through the local church.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My friends delighted my soul by pushing me to spend time in community, try new things, and find genuine joy in pursuing Christ alongside one another.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At one point\u00a0freshman\u00a0year, I was struggling with feeling like I\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0enough. I started to tie my sense of self-worth to my academic\u00a0and spiritual performance. A group of students from my major sat around me and led me in prayer. One by one, we all cried out to the Lord and shared the burdens on our hearts.\u00a0That day taught me\u00a0the true value of community and deepening friendships.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I even grew physically by taking advantage <\/span>of the <\/span>recreational<\/span><\/a>\u00a0opportunities\u00a0open to all students. I\u00a0began\u00a0working out regularly, joined a Zumba class, and played\u00a0<\/span>intramural basketball.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I no longer recognize the\u00a0freshman\u00a0I once was. Each memory, chapel message, late-night conversation, and\u00a0class grew me into the strong and\u00a0godly woman that I am\u00a0striving to be\u00a0today.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0just leave Cedarville with a diploma. I will leave here with a solid community and renewed sense of purpose\u00a0\u2014\u00a0to glorify the Lord through\u00a0my future.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking Forward: Life After Cedarville and What Comes Next<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Although I leave Cedarville with a heavy heart, I am thrilled for the life that is ahead of me.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I spent\u00a0three and a half\u00a0years growing deeper in my knowledge of the Lord,\u00a0and\u00a0now I\u00a0want to dive into my local church and the missions field. The whole goal of Cedarville is to train you\u00a0for\u00a01000 Days\u00a0so that\u00a0you can\u00a0go be a light unto the world. It was never meant to last forever.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I plan on using my Bible and women\u2019s ministry minors by serving my local church. I would like to serve in children\u2019s and women\u2019s ministries with hopes of one day beginning a girls\u2019 ministry. I am open to helping wherever my church may need, but I am searching to specifically utilize my Bible knowledge.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not only has Cedarville equipped me for ministry, but\u00a0I have\u00a0also\u00a0been equipped\u00a0professionally. I worked over\u00a0five\u00a0positions during my time at Cedarville and have\u00a0full confidence that I will\u00a0be able to\u00a0serve\u00a0my field well with\u00a0godly integrity and excellence.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My\u00a0supervisors\u00a0on campus took the time to share their wisdom with me and diligently invest in my future careers.\u00a0They\u00a0even sent\u00a0me job hiring posts and set up workshops for me to grow.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know that very soon, I will be using this knowledge in the workforce, and I am so grateful for those who took the time to love me well.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\"\"<\/p>\n

Carrying Cedarville\u00a0With\u00a0Me Beyond Graduation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Soon it will be\u00a0time for\u00a0my last chapel message, class,\u00a0and\u00a0night in the dorms.\u00a0Thankfully,\u00a0I\u00a0will\u00a0get to\u00a0cherish\u00a0these\u00a0moments in my heart forever.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Choosing Cedarville was a decision that I will never regret, and I am so thankful to be a part of the Cedarville family.
