This is an excerpt from a 2021 Global Outreach trip to Zambia. Here, the students are learning much more than just hospital knowledge. The members of the team are learning the importance of thinking in heavenly ways versus concentrating on earthly comforts.
We started rotations last week at the teaching hospital and have been learning so much. We’ve been able to meet and interact with several other students there, one of whom submitted their life to Christ. We are still waiting for Bible studies at the university to resume after the break, but hopefully, we will get involved there soon as well! In the meantime, we’ve had some opportunities to get to know the Navigators staff; they’re very intentional and welcoming! God is challenging our team to think in “supernatural” or heavenly ways, as Colossians 3:1-4 talks about. Instead of being focused on earthly comforts and transient things, we are called to set ourselves on things of heaven–that being the Word of God–and His image-bearers who need to hear it.
