Cedarville offers incoming students like you many resources to help you excel academically and personally. Today, I’ll walk you through resources across campus that will help you answer your academic, technical, payment, health, and overall questions so you can reach your full potential.
Academic Resources
The Cove
The Cove, located on the upper floor of the Center for Biblical and Theological Studies, oversees tutoring services and disability services, academic coaching, and other student resources. The Cove offers help to all students so that you may succeed academically and personally and fulfill your goals.
Library Services
In Cedarville’s Centennial Library, you’ll find study rooms, research help (including a dedicated research librarian for your department), specific books and articles, citation help, course reserves, and info on how you can renew your books online. The library is a wealth of resources, and your librarian is always happy to answer questions!
The Writing Center
The Writing Center is a resource for any papers, lab reports, summaries, or written discussions you may have in your classes. The Writing Center has its own page where you can create an appointment with a fellow student tutor to fit your needs. Whether you need help with brainstorming, using a specific citation style, understanding a professor’s guidelines, or simple grammar guidance, the Writing Center is full of people who would love to help!
Technical, Payment, and Health Resources
IT (Information Technology)
IT is in a separate part of the Tyler Digital Communication Center (generally called Tyler). Also known as TechStop, IT is ready and willing to help with any of the problems that may arise with your computer, phone, or other devices. Sometimes, they even have popcorn!
UMS (University Medical Services)
University Medical Services is located in the Callan Athletic Center and is your first stop for most of your health needs! Obviously, if you have an emergency, call 911 or on-campus EMTs through Campus Security; however, UMS helps treat illnesses, injuries, allergy shots, and immunizations (for overseas trips). The physicians and nurses are there to care for and help in an on-campus capacity.
Cashiers Office
The Cashiers Office, nestled in the bottom of the Stevens Student Cetner beyond the A–C postal lockers, is where you can get in-person help with managing your student account. You can ask questions about your bill, payment options, timeline, and paying your balance. The Cashiers Office will provide sound financial advice.
Resources for General Questions
Information Desk
For in-person general questions, the information desk is your place! There is always a person on duty (during their working hours), and they are happy to answer any general Cedarville questions you may have.
Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar is helpful for any administrative questions you may have. They can help you with course scheduling, records, graduation, testing, and transfers. They’re always there to help you, and they have a bowl of candy!
MyCU
Finally, MyCU is a onestop online portal to quickly look up different resources, including where to pay your bill, where to register for classes, and many more. If you’re looking for a direction to head in, MyCU will provide at least the starting point.
All these resources are designed to help you to excel to your fullest extent. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and use these resources frequently!
