2022 Faculty/Staff Service Awards
We were pleased to honor several faculty and staff members with our annual School of Nursing service awards.
Dr. Irene Alyn Service Award
Demonstrates servant leadership, develops and builds relationships, and facilitates opportunities to engage in service.
Dr. Anne Russell
Dr. Russell is the epitome of a servant-leader. Every project, committee, or decision with which she is involved display a compassionate sister in Christ. She mentors faculty, staff, and students alike, always relaying the exact message needed to facilitate growth. Dr. Russell has an innate ability to build relationships the exact way Christ intended, based on unconditional love.
Rhonda Dodson
Rhonda meets with every student and proactively problem-solves to improve the advising process and implements continuous process improvement. She remembers every student’s name and their story, answers their questions, and mentors faculty members in how to be the best advisor. We are so blessed to have Rhonda!
Dr. Janet Conway Clinical Excellence Award
Demonstrates commitment to student growth of knowledge, character, and communication. Demonstrates dedication to the nursing profession, provides ongoing mentoring as a role model, and engages students in the application of knowledge in the clinical setting.
Dr. Jason Grimm
Dr. Grimm brings forth current clinical knowledge to the classroom and clinical setting. He is committed to providing opportunities of growth in student knowledge in lecture by bringing lecture material to life through stories of relevant patient encounters. Dr. Grimm walks alongside students in the clinical setting by applying classroom knowledge in the clinical setting. Dr. Grimm is respectful and encourages students while modeling biblical integration in all interactions. Dr. Grimm maintains currency and demonstrates dedication to the nursing profession by continuing to serve in the advanced practice role.
Dr. Lois Baker Character Award
Exhibits joy in the journey of life, demonstrates selflessness in interacting with peers, and provides encouragement to peers and students. Eager to share wisdom that has been learned with students.
Dr. Michele Dodds
Dr. Dodd’s joyfully contributes to the lives of students, staff, and faculty; she remained steadfast and passionate in educating students, remaining joyful despite personal circumstances. Dr. Dodd’s is a beacon of light. While navigating the first-year full-time faculty role, she volunteered to lead two missions trips, eager to share the Gospel with everyone!!
Professor Mark Klimek Classroom Teaching Award
Creates supportive learning environment, communicates expertise effectively collaborates with peers and mentors students, and develops critical thought.
Prof. Brenda Miller
Prof. Miller always seeks new ways to teach a difficult concept to her students; she addresses various learning styles and is creative in making activities interesting. Prof. Miller uses ongoing evaluation to implement course changes, continually improving course delivery. Prof. Miller does an amazing job teaching students with a calm and caring demeanor.
