This year one of our students and three of our graduates presented posters at the annual GSA conference in Vancouver, BC.  In order to present, research has to be done in the previous year and then the author needs to write an abstract to be published in the conference proceedings.  The conference is attended by about 6,00o geologists from around the world.  We have had quite a few students present their research at this conference over the years.  Doing a research project and then presenting it to your peers is a critical skill for a scientist to develop.  Calvin presented a poster on a clastic dike complex that he is studying in the Pittsburgh area.  Sarah, Matt and Ken are CU graduates and presented research in conjunction with their PhD projects.  Our students and graduates did exceptionally well and I am very proud of them!
