In mid-July about 40 Creation Scientists gathered for the annual society meetings of the Creation Geology (CGS) and the Creation Biology Society in San Diego. Notable talks were given by Drs. Joe Francis, Todd Wood, Kurt Wise, Roger Sanders, John Baumgardner, CU’s Steve Gollmer, Matt Ingle and CU geology graduate Matt McLain. I presented some new observational work on the rapid rounding of K-feldspar sand grains that happens when this kind of sand is transported by wind. We had two field trips, one to the Birch Aquarium and one led by Dr. Steve Austin to the beautiful Pacific coastline of Torrey Pines. The conference ended with a catered dinner at the Creation and Earth History Museum at the old ICR headquarters in Santee. I am an ICR geology graduate, and for me it was an honor to have dinner in the former office area of the late Dr. Henry M. Morris.

The 2018 meetings of the societies are scheduled to be held in Pittsburgh just ahead of the International Conference on Creationism. The tentative site for the 2019 meetings will be in Cedarville!

Congratulations to Dr. Ken Coulson, 2012 CU geology graduate, who will begin his first year of full time teaching at San Diego Christian College!
