- Proverbs 3:11 is not just a father telling his son to not despite the Lords’ discipline. The next verse explains why: it’s a sign of his love. Discipline isn’t easy, but it’s necessary from the Lord.
- In Hebrews 12:10, the author mentions that we respect our earthly father’s discipline, and we should therefore respect God’s discipline. It may be painful, but the outcome in the light of eternity is worth it.
