Novell Filr – Easy Access to Network Drives

Now there is an easier way for you to access files stored on network drives (H: S: T:) from a personal computer or mobile device. Read more about Filr installation and usage instructions. Note: if you continue to use the web-based My Files/NetStorage method to access your network files, IT recommends using Firefox or Internet Explorer browser.

Used Computer Sale – Priority Access until 4/26

Low-cost, used University computers with 22″ monitors are available for purchase. Students have priority access through Saturday, 4/26/14. View current inventory, specs, pricing and warranty information. Starting Monday 5/5/14, the computer sale will be opened up to other interested purchasers.

CedarNet Maintenance – 4/17 and 4/22

Thursday, 4/17/14 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. IT will perform important maintenance on a server that controls access to CedarNet software applications. This will affect people trying to log in on a University-owned system for the first time (on that particular system) or trying to run a CedarNet software package for the first time on that system. People using a University-owned system and software that they have accessed previously this semester should not encounter any problems. Access to web-based resources like CedarInfo, Internet, etc. should not be affected. Student-owned systems should not be affected.

Tuesday, 4/22/14 from 5:30-7:00 a.m. Monthly Windows server maintenance is scheduled at this time. You may notice a brief outage with the main web server, as well as intermittent access to the Google mail login page. For your planning purposes, the next scheduled Windows maintenance is May 27, 2014.

Computer Labs – closing for Easter holiday

The open-access computer labs (CBTS 111 and ENS 251) will close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 for the Easter holiday. Campus Safety determines the availability of the SSC 103 computer lab according to holiday building hours. The computer labs will reopen on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 according to the academic year schedule.
