Information Technology has some additional recommendations to the original post titled Do Not Open Urgent Email Nor Click Dropbox Link from 1/26/15.

Additional Recommendations

Here are further instructions of what to do if you clicked on the link in the recent Dropbox email and especially if you entered your CedarNet username and password after clicking the link:

  1. Change your CedarNet password through CedarInfo (under the Individual Transactions heading).
  2. If you use your CedarNet username/email address and password for any other accounts (like social media, shopping, banking, etc.) change those passwords, too
  3. If you have a valid Dropbox account, change your Dropbox password as well.

The following recommendation can help protect those of you who access your email from your smartphone or tablet from future attacks:

  1. If you have a smart-phone or tablet, IT recommends setting up 2-step verification to add an extra layer of security to your CedarNet account. The help page for this process is currently being updated, so stop by the TechStop center in the Tyler Digital Communication Center between 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays for assistance with this process.
