Change Your CedarNet UserName (and email address)
Three times a year, we offer students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to request a change in their CedarNet username (login name). Reasons for requesting a change would include wanting a shorter username or to reflect a change in your last name (via marriage or some other legal action). The CedarInfo transaction to request a change in your username is located under “Individual Transactions.”
The deadline for requesting changes this semester is May 1. The actual changes will be made on the morning of May 5. The changes will take a few hours to process through all of our systems, so people whose usernames are being changed will not have access to some resources that morning.
The next open period for requesting a username change will be at the end of the summer, so if you are anticipating a change in legal name before then, you should consider requesting a change in your username now.
Please note that when your CedarNet username is changed, your Cedarville email address will also change. You will want to think about some potential negatives in regards to changing your username, especially if you have used your Cedarville email address to subscribe to Facebook, shopping accounts, etc.
Once a username is changed, we will maintain an alias for the old email address for a period of six months. Incoming email sent to the old address and the new address will be delivered. After six months, only the new email address will be valid.
Moodle Update – Summer Students
Student rosters will be uploaded to summer Moodle courses on Friday morning, April 10, 2015.
