Google is introducing an additional layer of security when we sign in to Google Mail or any other Google Application (Calendar, Drive, Docs, etc.). Starting on Monday, May 7, 2018, you may be prompted with an additional screen to confirm your identity. This will only occur one time per account per device. An example of this additional authentication screen is shown below:
Proceed to select “Continue” and you will be taken to your intended destination. Additional information can be found at G Suite Updates: A more secure sign-in. The article specifically mentions the Chrome browser, but the additional authentication step could appear on all web browsers.
Upcoming Phone System Update
Information Technology will apply an update to our phone system on Friday, June 1, 2018. In addition to various bug fixes, the Cedarville University logo will appear on your desk phone’s screen. You will also have an option to see missed calls. More details will be coming soon.
