How the gospel is being spread:
Bridges 4 Justice is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking and helping vulnerable women come out of poverty.
In 2012, a mission team traveled to India and worked in the Red-Light district in Kolkata. They came face-to-face with overwhelming poverty and trafficking, yet the team believed they could make a difference in these people’s lives. As a result, Bridges 4 Justice was born. This nonprofit organization offers training and business programs (along with spiritual discipleship) to women so they can earn an income through the products they create. The sale of every product helps support themselves and their families.
Other Bridges 4 Justice programs:
- Young Women’s Scholarships
- Health and Wellness for Women at Risk
- Outreach in Red Light Districts
- Children’s Brick Kiln Project
- Protect a Teen Program
Through Bridges 4 Justice, and many organizations like it, hundreds of women and their families have come to know Christ and been given hope for their futures.
Fun Facts:
- The game “snakes and ladders” comes from India and dates back to the 2nd century BC. In the game, ladders🪜represent generosity, faith, and humility (virtues), while snakes🐍 represent anger, murder, and theft (vices). Chess♟️was also invented in India.
- Magnetic hill 🧲⛰️– Though the road to Magnetic Hill appears slopped upward, if you park your car and turn off the engine, it will move towards the hill by itself. Some believe this is an optical illusion, while others believe a divine force pulls worthy people toward heaven. Read more about this mysterious hill here.
Next Week’s Hint:
I’m a journey that leads where the Padma flows,
Where green fields dance and the jackfruit grows.
Rickshaws whir past in colors so bright,
And fishermen cast their nets at night.
From Cox’s Bazar to hills of Chittagong,
In this land of songs, the heart grows strong.
Land of language, brave and bold—
What country does this story hold?
